While most of New York City’s glitterati have fled to the Hamptons for the summer, there have been several fashion parties pop up around the city this summer. Brands have been hosting fashion-forward co*cktail parties, presentations at rooftop bars and more. Here are some of New York City’s most stylish fashion events this summer (so far).

Kelli O’Hara + Arian Moayed hosted Late Night at Pebble Bar

The 77th Tony Awards showcased some stunning looks on the red carpet, from Angelina Jolie to Corey Cott. The after-parties were just as dazzling. Theater community leaders Kelli O’Hara and Arian Moayed hosted their annual Late Night at Pebble Bar. This VIP event saw guests Sarah Paulson, Corey Stoll, Elle Fanning, Billy Porter, Leslie Odom Jr., Brian d’Arcy James, William Jackson Harper and Ali Ahn, among others.

Dream Ball at Art Students League

The Art Students League is one of America’s oldest arts schools and has had legendary talents graduate from their uptown school. They are not only known for their creativity in their art studios, but also for their annual Dream Ball, which happened on June 1. The most epic costumes are at this party, which has a different theme each year. This year, it was “A Maximalist Fairytale.” Guests were decked out in famous fairytale characters, from Cinderella to Snow White. The event was hosted by drag legend Murray Hill and all funds raised went to support the League’s scholarship fund.

Mercato at Dante West Village

On June 4, Capital One and Prior hosted Mercato at Dante West Village on June 4. The event was full of inspiration from Italy, just as Capital One celebrated their launch of unique trips through Italy for their cardholders. An Italian market was set up in partnership with Prior, a travel company, showing how culturally rich Italy truly is. There were handmade items from Milanese Marchesi 1824, Laboratorio Paravicini, Romanengo from Genova, Laguna~B glassware from Venice, Zazie from Rome, and more.

Legends of Drag

To kick off Pride Month, the New York City AIDS Memorial and the Whitney Museum hosted the second annual Legends of Drag, which was held in collaboration with the creators of a photo book released by Abrams publishers in 2022 called the Legends Of Drag: Queens Of A Certain Age. This event celebrated the elder drag queens who paved the way for the younger generation today. The live revue featured performances from Princess Diandra, Lawanda Jackson, Simone, Egyptt LaBeija, and Ruby Rims, with the night’s emcee, Linda Simpson. The event on June 5 coincided with HIV/AIDS long-term survivor awareness day.

Opening of the Telos Haus

In east Williamsburg, a new culture hub has emerged. The Telos Haus, founded by Ryan Zhuo, with art direction by Paul Bille. The Telos Haus is a new community space and event venue in a warehouse, and their name combines the ancient Greek concept of “telos,” meaning ‘end’ or ‘goal,’ with the ‘haus’ from Bauhaus, the famed German art school. “We believe that by unifying how we do things with why we do them, we can create the relationships, community, and world we most want to see,” said Bille. They hosted their first event, for friends and family, on June 22. They also hosted a self-guided gallery walk, alongside refreshments and a sneak peek of what they plan to build this summer.

Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff Hosts Reception for the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation

Stylish philanthropist Jean Shafiroff hosted a reception for the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation in her historic home in the Upper East Side. Notable attendees included Martin Shafiroff, Jordan Lippner, Anthony Sabia, Jon Ledecky, Stephen Baldwin, Peter Thomas Roth, Leesa Roland and more. “I am deeply moved by the incredible work of the Foundation caring for animals,” said Shafiroff at the event. “The Southampton Animal Shelter takes in animals from all over the country. Their training is excellent.” The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation’s 15th Annual Unconditional Love Gala will take place on Saturday, July 20, in Southampton.

Always be Extra At The Standard High Line’s Boom Boom Room

If Italy is known for anything, its for their luxury craftsmanship. Some of the top fashion designers coming out of Italy were featured in Always Be Extra, hosted by the Italian Trade Agency. The event showcased fashion and accessory designer brands from Italy. The showcase was hosted by style icon Olivia Palermo, and notable attendees included Nadejda Savcova, Teri Agins, Edward Barsamian, Lorenzo Martone, Fabrizio Di Michele, from the Italian Consul, Erica Di Giovancarlo, the Italian Trade Commissioner, and Alessio Nanni, the director of fashion and beauty at the Italian Trade Agency.

Highlights From Tribeca Film Festival

There were many remarkable fashion moments from this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Some of the non-screening events included e.l.f cosmetics, which partnered with Tribeca at the NeueHouse in Madison Square for a night of beauty and self-expression. There was also the screening of The Brown Dog, an animated short starring Michael K. Williams, which screened at the Roxy Cinema, and saw Steve Buscemi attend, and was co-presented by WeTransfer. Meanwhile Mazda co-presented an event called Moving the Spotlight to support young filmmakers. Tribeca’s shorts program celebrated their kickoff at the Starbucks Reserve in the Empire State Building, which is where Starbucks announced the launch of their new production studio, Starbucks Studio.
